BSBA Program
The College offers a four-year program leading to a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration which primarily trains students to be professional managers and entrepreneurs. The objective of the program is to develop students who are capable of holding positions of responsibility which can be both personally rewarding and socially relevant. The program is a general management course, although the student has the option to develop a certain degree of specialized knowledge and skill in a functional area of business activity. Thus upon graduation, s/he can immediately assume a high level staff career position in the business firm. Around 100 students enter the program annually

The program is envisioned to develop the student’s analytical thinking skills and prepare him/her to be responsive to the current economic issues affecting business environment. The economics theories acquired through various academic exercises coupled with practicum/on-the-job training activities are expected to increase the number of experts in the field of Business Economics. Students in this program are expected to understand extensively the economic principles and theories, and develop their competencies and skills needed as economic analyst and entrepreneurs.

BSBAA Program
The Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and Accountancy program, a five-year course, is essentially an extension of the basic B.S.B.A. curriculum. It aims to develop the accounting student into a professional public accountant as well as provide him/her with the basic preparation to be a professional manager or entrepreneur. The program accepts between 60 and 90 students every year.

Academic Information
The two programs of study are: Full-Time Program and Part-Time or Managers’ Program.
The Full-Time program can be completed in five trimesters (1 2/3 years) and the Managers’ program in eight trimesters (2 2/3 years). The degree requirements are the same for both, each with a minimum of 42 academic credit units.
The academic calendar is divided into three trimesters. In academic year 2007-2008, starts and ends of classes are:

MS Finance Program
Financial institutions undertake the financial sector’s mobilization of resources. Crucial to the sector’s growth is its managerial manpower.
The effort in developing such managers had been through MBA programs that offer elective courses in financial management. However, MBA programs remain mainly oriented toward training generalist business managers. As a result, substantial resources are still expended in non-formal special training in finance.
Furthermore, the growing size and complexity of the Philippine finance sector has created the need for a specialized degree program in finance.

MASTER OF SCIENCE IN ACCOUNTANCY

The Master of Science in Accountancy (MSA) Program is intended to prepare the student to meet the challenges of the ever changing demands of the Accountancy profession. It is a 42-units program to be completed in two years on a trimester basis. In line with the research thrust of the University, the program is research oriented and includes a research thesis. It is targeted to graduates of BSA (both CPAs and non CPAs), BSC major in Accountancy, BS in Management Accounting and BSBA major in Accountancy or Finance.

The Master of Accountancy: Major in Taxation (MA-T) Program is intended to prepare the student to meet the challenges of the ever changing demands of the Accountancy profession, particularly in taxation. It is a 45-unit program to be completed in two years on a trimester basis. In line with the University’s thrust on lifelong learning, the program is targeted to municipal, city, provincial, and government agencies accountants, BIR personnel, and tax consultants.

Breadth Requirements
Entering bachelor's degree holders are required to take breadth courses. These requirements are met by the satisfactory completion of MBA or MSFIN courses offered by the UPCBA master's program or an equivalent Master's degree from a reputable institution. Students earn 2 units for every master's level course. A total of 18 units (nine 200-level courses) need to be completed before the student can proceed to Year 2. Master's degree holders in fields other than management or economics may be required to enroll in these courses.

The Master of Management Accounting (MMA) Program is intended to prepare the student to meet the challenges of the ever changing demands of the Management Accounting profession. It is a 45-unit program to be completed in two years on a trimester basis.

The MBA Program of the University of the Philippines aims to help managers gain a distinct advantage in their profession, whether they are in industrial, financial, government or non-profit institutions.
