BAMS 517 Decision Analysis
Prerequisite

The module will address some basic ideas of decision analysis and how they can be extended into a more general Markov Decision Process (MDP) model. These methods will be applied to a wide range of disciplines including management science, economics, telecommunications, and computer science. The objectives of the course are to teach students to formulate and solve MDP models under several optimality criteria.

This course focuses on analysis to support marketing decisions and aid in the formation of marketing strategy. It addresses behavioural, financial, and numerical analysis and the application of these analyses to business decisions. The viewpoint that is taken in this course is that of the marketing manager or the analyst advising the marketing manager. The emphasis is on practical marketing analysis for improved decisions and strategy.
