The Integrated Core: A Solid Foundation
Comprehensive Curriculum
At the beginning of the program, students take part in the Integrated Core - a unique experience providing a strong foundation in accounting, finance, information technology, operation logistics, marketing, and human resources management and strategy. Team-taught as one comprehensive course by Sauder School of Business faculty representing different core disciplines, it fosters the broad management perspective and cross-functional skills necessary to tackle complex business challenges.
IMBA students will gain:

Teamwork, communication, and leadership skills developed through problem-solving, group projects, and presentations.
The Integrated Core consists of three parts:
Part I: Two 4-day weekends followed by one 5-day weekend at the Antai School of Management at Shanghai Jiao Tong University (SJTU)
Part II: Two full weeks taught at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, Canada
Part III: One 5-day weekend in Shanghai at the Antai School of Management at SJTU
Post Core Modules: Understanding Essential Business Functions
Following the Integrated Core sessions, students complete a series of post-core modules on a part-time basis one weekend per month. The sixteen learning modules are designed to develop an in-depth understanding of essential business functions. A common theme throughout the modules is recognizing the challenges and opportunities of global business.
Each post-core module is taught by a UBC professor and includes 20 hours of learning time over 4-day weekend sessions from Thursday through Sunday (note that all exams will be held on Thursday afternoons) . Each module is designed to maximize learning and will consist of preparatory reading, assignments, and a post-module exam held on the Thursday afternoon prior to the start of the next module.

COHR 310 Industrial Relations in an Era of Globalization
The purpose of this course is to provide an intensive overview of union-management relations. The course builds upon Commerce 392 by looking more closely at the nature of the actors, the legal framework, the substantive issues and the interactions of the actors. Understanding Essential Business Functions
Following the Integrated Core, participants will return to Shanghai to complete their studies on a part-time basis. COMM 486T Fundamentals of Entrepreneurship
This is an introductory course intended to provide students with an understanding of the characteristics of entrepreneurs, entrepreneurial opportunities and the entrepreneurial process. It seeks to give students an experiential, in-depth overview of the challenges involved in identifying and developing an opportunity for an entrepreneurial venture. This is an intermediate course in investments. The aim of the course is to study in depth some basic concepts that were introduced briefly in COMM 297 and COMM 397. This course will provide an overview of the issues and challenges facing health care managers. This course introduces the role of banks and financial institutions within the general financial markets and macro-economy. Both macro- and micro aspects of banking are emphasized. Topics to be covered are:
Overview of a financial system

Program Overview and Structure
Northwestern Law’s Executive LLM course is a 12-month program that commences in April at the KAIST Graduate School of Management in Seoul. Classes take place in the evening during the week and in the daytime during the weekend, enabling you to continue your career along with your studies.
