Degree Requirements
The PhD degree requirements fall into two categories: Program Requirements and Area of Concentration Requirements. All students complete courses required by the program and thereby develop skills that will enhance their ability to generate leading-edge research and also become an effective teacher.
Area of Concentration Requirements depend upon the student’s chosen field of study. The student selects a major from the 8 Areas of Concentration and completes the courses that the Area requires. Course loads range from nine to twelve half course equivalents (HECs).

PhD Program in Business Administration
The PhD Program in Business Administration is an intensive research-based program with a teacher training component. The program is designed to develop an individual's analytic, research and teaching ability and prepare PhD candidates for a career in university teaching and research. Our program provides the conceptual and analytical tools that cultivate leading-edge research and contribution to both theoretical and applied knowledge.

The PhD program at Ivey is a full-time program. Students register full-time for four years and are expected to be on campus during this period. Each student is provided a four year funding package to assist them financially.
PhD students identify their research interests and select a discipline area when they apply to the program. Upon admission they are aligned to a specific discipline and a faculty mentor.

Year 1
Breadth Requirements
Entering bachelor's degree holders are required to take breadth courses. These requirements are met by the satisfactory completion of MBA or MSFIN courses offered by the UPCBA master's program or an equivalent Master's degree from a reputable institution. Students earn 2 units for every master's level course. A total of 18 units (nine 200-level courses) need to be completed before the student can proceed to Year 2. Master's degree holders in fields other than management or economics may be required to enroll in these courses.
Operations
The Doctoral Program in Operations Management (OM) at the Richard Ivey School of Business at the University of Western Ontario is designed to prepare students for a career in research and teaching in leading schools of business administration. It includes an understanding of the design and implementation of model-based systems for planning, controlling, and improving operations and the use of analytical aids for managerial decision-making in such areas as new technology, management of scarce resources, productivity, quality assurance, and workforce management. Operations concepts are equally applicable to the service sector.

A personal profile in Inside Track;
A degree program at an accredited university or its equivalent (some exceptions may be considered);
Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT) exam (test scores more than 5 years old are not valid);
English language proficiency test: English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL), International English Language Testing System (IELTS), or Michigan English Language Assessment (MELAB) is required for candidates who attended a non-English-speaking undergraduate university or whose native language is not English (more information);

Strong academic record on the graduate level in management or economics (minimum GPA of 3.50 or equivalent)
Submission of a brief dissertation research proposal including the required research facilities, if necessary
Applicants with strong academic credentials in fields other than management are encouraged to apply. They are required to take additional coursework at AIT.
Participants who do not meet the PhD admission requirements might enter in the Certificate of Advanced Studies (CAS) program first which can qualify for entry in the PhD program.

Microeconomics for Managers
This is an introduction to the economic way of thinking. The content covers basic foundations of supply and demand, price determination, and the economics of industry structure. Cases, exercises and lectures emphasize the use of microeconomic principles for understanding business situations and making effective management decisions.
Organizational Behaviour
The doctoral program in Organizational Behaviour is designed to train students for an academic career with an emphasis on research. The field of OB focuses on understanding the behavior of individuals, groups and organizations. This field uses theory and methods from a wide variety of disciplines including psychology, sociology, political science, anthropology, statistics and economics.

2.1 Undergraduate degree requirements and curriculum
To earn a Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, a student must complete no less than 140 credits, including 96 credits for required courses. Each student must also attend at least 8 assigned speeches to complete 1 credit of “General Education Forum”. Students who have already completed “Introduction To Computer Science” course are allowed not to take “Computers and Information” course.
The course requirements are divided into the following categories: core courses (16 credits), general education courses (17 credits), major courses (63 credits), and elective courses.

To qualify for the Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) candidates must hold the following qualifications: Applicants are required to have a Masters Degree with CGPA of at least 3.300 or its equivalent in the relevant field; or,
Applicants have a Masters Degree with CGPA below 3.300 or equivalent in the relevant field but have experience in research work; or,
Applicants have obtained whatever other qualification that is approved by the UPM Senate.

Due to the rigorous intellectual demands of the PhD programme, we look for applicants with evidence of a high level of scholastic ability in both quantitative and qualitative skills. Each year, about 10 to 15 of the finest applicants are admitted to the programme.

The McGill PhD in Mangement aims to attract individuals who possess a strong academic background, personal initiative, and the potential to become excellent researchers. Applicants are assessed according to their past academic record, evaluations by former professors or supervisors, performance on standard graduate examinations, relevant work experience and the fit between their interests and the Faculty's focus and objectives. This course is about how an enterprise achieves and sustains a high level of success, and the role of the general manager in this process. Executive Client Field Project – Business 564
This is a group project, conducted in self-selected teams for the duration of the program. A senior executive client must be obtained in either a profit-oriented or non-profit organization of appropriate size and complexity. There are deliverables at the end of each term and the international field trip to China is part of this project.
