Curriculum of Doctoral Program
To obtain a PhD degree in Human Resource Management, a doctoral student must complete a minimum of 39 credits of graduate courses, including 15 credits of required courses. In addition, each doctoral student must pass a qualifying examination and complete a dissertation that meets required standards of scholarship and demonstrates the candidate’s research capabilities and contributions. To apply for the final dissertation defense, a doctoral student needs to complete all coursework, pass the qualifying examination, pass the dissertation proposal defense, and publish one research article indexed in the Social-Science Citation Index or two research articles indexed in the Taiwan Social-Science Citation Index.

Part-time Master Program of Institute of Human Resources Management : College of Management at National Sun Yat-Sen University
Curriculum of Part-time Master Program
To earn a part-time master degree in Human Resource Management, students must complete a minimum of 43 credits, including 6 credits of writing a Master thesis. In addition, a student must attain TOEFL 190 or above (or equivalent score attained in other English tests approved by the University) before degree completion.

Public Affairs Management (PAM) : College of Management at National Sun Yat-Sen University
Curriculum of Doctoral Program
To obtain a Ph.D. in PAM, a doctoral student must complete a minimum of 36 credits, including 16 credits of required courses. Each student has to select 1 subdiscipline from 4 subdisciplines as his or her major, and take 2 core courses in the subdiscipline chosen. The student also has to take 1 core course from another
subdiscipline. The credits in these 3 core courses are part of the 16 required credits aforementioned. Finally, as in the other two programs, each doctoral student must complete a dissertation and attain a TOEFL-CBT score of 200 or above before graduation.
To apply for the final dissertation defense, a doctoral student needs to complete all coursework, pass a qualifying examand preliminary oral, and publish two research articles indexed in the Science Citation Index, Social Science Citation Index, or the Taiwan Social-Science Citation Index.

Admission Policies
3.1 Admission Policy for Undergraduate Program
Students seeking admissions to the undergraduate program can take one of the following two admission tracks:
1. Application track: Students who take this track need to take the “Subject Capability Tests” organized by the University Entrance Examination Center, Taiwan, to prepare and send an application package to the department,and be interviewed by the faculty members of the department. Thus, the evaluation involves three criteria whose weights are listed as follows:
a) “Subject Capability Tests” performance: 60%
b) Past academic and other performance (as shown in application package): 10%
c) Interview performance: 30%
2. Joint entrance examination track: Students who take this track must take the national college entrance
examination organized by the University Entrance Examination Center, Taiwan.
3.2 Admission Policy for Full-time Master’s Program
Students seeking admissions to the Master’s Program can take one of the following two admission tracks:
1. Application track: Students whose undergraduate average grades rank at the top 20 percent of their classes are qualified to take this track. An applicant needs to prepare and send to the department an applicationpackage (including study plan, undergraduate course grades, at least two reference letters, and selectedproject reports). Based on the qualifications demonstrated in their application packages, top candidates will be interviewed by the graduate admission committee of the department. Accordingly, the evaluation involves two criteria whose weights are listed as follows:
a) Past academic and other performance (as shown in application package): 50%
b) Interview performance: 50%
2. Entrance examination track: Students who take this track must take the graduate-study entrance
examination organized by the university. The examination include three subjects: finance, statistics and
economics
3.3 Admission Policy for Doctoral Programs
Each applicant needs to prepare and send to the department an application package (including research plan, undergraduate and graduate course grades, at least two reference letters and master thesis). In addition, each applicant is required to take the doctoral entrance written examination given by the doctoral admission committee of the department and also will be interviewed.. Accordingly, the evaluation involves three criteria whose weights are listed as follows:
1. Past academic performance (35%)
2. Doctoral entrance written examination (40%): Applicants select two of the subjects including finance, economics, statistics and mathematics.
3. Interview performance (25%).
3.4 Admission Policy for Part-time Undergraduate Program
The admission process for part-time undergraduate program consists of two stages. In the first stage, applicants must take the entrance examination organized by the university. The performance in the stage is given a weight of 50%. Top 100 applicants with the highest performance in the first stage are selected into the second stage of the admissionprocess. Second stage includes personal evaluation (including study plan, autobiography and reference letters) and interview. The performance in the stage is given a weight of 50%. Consequently, the overall performance of an applicant is the weighted sum of the two different evaluation criteria, and the top candidates will be admitted into the part-time undergraduate program.
3.5 Admission Policy for Part-time Master’s Program
The admission process for part-time Master’s Program in Finance consists of two stages. In the first stage, applicants (required a minimum of 2-year work experience) must send an application package (including study plan, undergraduate course grades, and reference letters) to the department for evaluation (given a weight of 25%) and take the entrance examination organized by the university (given a weight of 50%). Top 60 applicants with the highest performance in the first stage are selected into the second stage of the admission process. In second stage, each applicant will be interviewed by the admission committee of the department. The performance in the stage is given a weight of 25%. Consequently, the overall performance of an applicant is the weighted sum of the three different evaluation criteria, and the top candidates will be admitted into the part-time Master’s Program in Finance.
