Program Overview
Invest in the Best
In today’s fast-paced healthcare environment, managers and executives face challenges that defy simple solutions. As a leader in healthcare you must be able to think strategically and responsibly. The need for smart problem-solving and strategic thinking calls for your ability to innovate and lead in an increasingly shifting landscape. You are required to not only plan but also implement strategies. Never before has importance of understanding and working with government been so critical.
At the Sauder School of Business we recognize that the issues facing the healthcare industry require specific education to develop an executive’s capacity to enhance service delivery and make better-informed decisions.
In the EMBA in Healthcare you will receive a practical and applied foundation in business fundamentals and the necessary tools to be a better decision maker in the field. Through a combination of lectures, seminars, practical assignments, industry-based projects, guest speakers and coaching, you will engage in a unique forum for learning, reflection, networking, discussion and action and that will have a long lasting impact on your career.
Learning assignments in the workplace will be undertaken between the residences and the specialized courses. You will be required to complete a team-based project as part of the Integrated Core.
In the EMBA in Healthcare you are required to complete the 15-credit Integrated Core component of the EMBA in its prescribed order. If at this point you choose to exit the program, you will receive a Graduate Certificate in Healthcare Management. To complete the EMBA in Healthcare, you are required to complete 12 credits of specialized courses, 6 credits of electives and a 3-credit Executive Project. Up to 12 of these 21 credits (6 each of the specialized credits and elective credits) may be recognized from other educational institutions. This allows you greater flexibility and choice in choosing not only the content, but the location of these courses.
The EMBA in Healthcare can be completed in 15 months or within 3 years.
