School of Business at Sogang University
Two time spans of MBA programs: One-year and four month intensive MBA program or two-year MBA program with more academic contents.
Applicants can choose a program best fit to oneself. One-year intensive courses and a 4-month on-site internship differentiate the program from existing 2-year tracks. During a 4-month internship, MBA students who are sent to Sogang MBA program for retraining, can return to work and combine academic theories with business affairs. MBA students without job careers can be also given opportunities to develop their career, going through the 4-month internship in Korea’s leading companies. One the other hand, academic track requires 2 years of training as it was with more emphasis on thesis completion.
Specialized training by track
The SBS sets up the following four specialized tracks, depending on requirements, in order to fully meet trainees’ needs: an academic track for those who want academic master’s courses; a business leader track for future leaders who don’t have enough work experiences; a collaborative track for corporate employees in cooperation between the academia and industries; a dual degree track for MBA candidates.
Specialized training by major area
The course works are segmented into three concentration areas: service science, management, and finance in order to respond to the demand for business experts in management, service management, and finance.
Most Lectures are conducted in English
The SBS provides lectures in English for almost all of the required courses. Foreigners whose native language is not Korean, can learn with Korean students and finish all MBA requirements. In class, case studies on international corporations are also emphasized in order to help learners acquire global business sense and adapt to the internationalized corporate environments.
Dual or joint degree program
MBA students who want to study abroad can obtain dual or joint MBA degrees in foreign affiliated MBA schools in U.S., U.K., and China. In this case, they should attend classes in the foreign MBA schools in their second academic year.
