Application Fee
A non-refundable $125 CAD fee is required prior to the application being processed. Please note that the electronic application requires payment of an application fee using MasterCard or Visa only. If you prefer to pay by bank draft or money order, you must complete a paper application form. Please make the payment payable to Sauder School of Business. Do not send cash or wire transfers. Application fees cannot be deferred and are only valid for the academic year in which you apply.

Deposits
Upon receipt of an offer of admission, you will be required to submit a non-refundable and non-transferable deposit in Canadian currency. This deposit total of $2500 CAD will be credited towards your first tuition installment.

Tuition fees are payable in four (4) equal installments.

*The amounts noted above are the program tuition fees for the 2009-2010 academic year. Fees are normally established in April or May preceding the commencement of each academic year, but the University may change the fees at any time without advance notice.

ONCE ACCEPTED

Students who accept our Offer of Admission to the McGill MBA Japan Program must forward a Registration Deposit of 200,000 Yen (see Payment Schedule). This fee is refundable if the student subsequently decides to decline the Offer of Admission by the date specified in the Letter of Admission.

Note that beginning in June 2008, McGill MBA Japan tuition payments will be subject to Japanese Consumption Tax, presently 5%.
Refund Policy

The first payment of tuition fees is refundable in full provided the Program Director receives written notification stating the intent to withdraw three weeks prior to the first day of classes. Full refund of tuition will not be granted once classes have commenced. Half of the second payment of tuition fees will be refunded provided the Program Director receives written notification no later than three weeks into the second session of the first year.

SCHOLARSHIPS AND OTHER ASSISTANCE

Students in the McGill MBA Japan program are expected to derive funding for their studies from their personal financial resources, from their employer, or through a governmental funding agency.

Scholarships are only offered to candidates who meet all our published requirements. Scholarship decisions are made after the candidate has been admitted to the program.

A number of Scholarships are available to qualified MBA Japan candidates.
JMEC Alumni Scholarship

The JMEC Alumni Scholarship will be awarded on the basis of academic merit, potential contribution to the learning of the other MBA Japan students, and financial need.
JET Alumni Scholarship

McGill MBA Japan also offers a Japan Exchange and Teaching (JET) alumni scholarship. To be eligible for a JET Scholarship, candidates need to provide confirmation of their JET participation.
Sophia University Graduate Scholarship

A Sophia University Graduate Scholarship is also available. Candidates for this scholarship need to be graduates of Sophia University.
McGill Entrance Scholarship

There is also a McGill Entrance Scholarship, for which all candidates may apply.

Selection for all awards is based on academic merit, potential contribution to the program, and financial need. To apply for any of these Scholarships, students should include a letter with their applications identifying the Scholarship for which they wish to be considered and elaborating on their academic qualifications, potential contribution to the program and financial need.

Other Assistance

Other loan and grant programs may be available. Students may be eligible for financial assistance from the government of their home country, state, province or prefecture, or city. In particular, present or former members of the United States Armed Forces may be eligible for extensive financial support. Interested candidates should contact their government educational funding institution for information.

Estimated Expenses and Payment Schedule for the 2008-2009 Academic Year

The tuition and fees for the two-year EMBA program are Baht 1,350,000 which covers tuition fees for 24 courses; textbooks and course materials; weekly lunches and coffee breaks; travel, accommodation and meals during the Kellogg Residential and two Sasin Residential sessions.
