Seminar in Consumer Decision Making
The purpose of this course is to introduce students to decision research. Topics covered will include judgmental decision research, bounded rationality and probabilistic reasoning, probabilistic models and individual differences, thinking under uncertainty, decision under uncertainty, risk taking, context dependent preferences, and organizational decision making. This course will be conducted as a research seminar, which means that the students will be expected to take an active role in the class sessions. Each week we will discuss articles.

AeG Program at KAIST Graduate School of Management

Now, it is time for the Korean government to shift from information-oriented to knowledge-based e-government.’ (AeG)

Programme overview

Purpose
Spreading e-Government knowledge to public sector and businesses doing e-Government projects.
Carrying out education programs such as ‘IT-based innovation management’ and ‘direction and strategic actions of e-government initiatives’.

Goals
The Advanced e-Government program emphasizes four categories that senior managers need to achieve in their e-Government fields, and hereafter new issues will be reflected in them:
1. Developing a direction of knowledge based e-Government
2. Establishing management techniques for higher value added e-Government
3. Creating a systematic organization and leadership
4. Developing foundation skills and management techniques to achieve citizen-centered electronic government.

Program Requirements of Executive LLM Program at KAIST Graduate School of Management

Program Requirements
Students must earn a total of at least 20 credits in order to earn the Executive LLM degree. Students will participate in seven law courses, which will be taught in two-week increments. All courses are taught in English by Northwestern Law faculty members. Courses are held as traditional law school classes with lectures, discussions and case studies. Six courses will be held in Seoul and the final course will be held in Chicago during the month of March. Law courses include:

(1) Introduction to US Law and Reasoning
(2) Contracts
(3) Commercial Law
(4) Business Associations
(5) Intellectual Property
(6) International Taxation, and
(7) Securities and Regulation

All law courses include a preview course, which is a one-week course that is held one week prior to each law course. The preview courses are designed to prepare students to study each specific topic in Anglo-American Law.

In addition to the law courses, students will also complete two business courses at KAIST Graduate School of Management, during the fall semester. The business courses will be taught by KAIST Faculty and successful completion of these courses is a requirement of the degree. A certificate of completion will be awarded by KAIST when the courses have been completed. Students will choose two courses out of the following:

Program Overview and Structure of Executive LLM Program at KAIST Graduate School of Management

Program Overview and Structure
Northwestern Law’s Executive LLM course is a 12-month program that commences in April at the KAIST Graduate School of Management in Seoul. Classes take place in the evening during the week and in the daytime during the weekend, enabling you to continue your career along with your studies.

Classes are taught in English by Northwestern Law faculty members. Bilingual teaching assistants with educational backgrounds in law assist students in preparing for classroom discussions.

The Executive LLM Program will conclude with students spending the last month at Northwestern Law’s campus in Chicago where they will complete a two-week course and participate in a range of activities, including visits to law firms and state and federal courts, to help orient them to the U.S. legal community.

Programme Structure & Curriculum of MSc in Operations Management at Lee Kong Chian School of Business

The Master of Science in Operations Management (by Research) is a full-time programme. There is only one admission each year. Students will begin their programme of study in August. The length of the programme is 24 months. Students will do coursework and research over the first academic year and complete their Master’s thesis in the subsequent year.

The curriculum consists of foundation courses, faculty-directed research seminars, independent studies, and a Master’s thesis. Candidates are required to complete:
4 foundation courses, 2 faculty-directed research seminars, 2 independent studies, and a thesis proposal by the end of the first academic year;
A Master’s thesis by the end of the second academic year.

Faculty-Directed Research Seminars

Students are required to take 2 faculty-directed research seminars. These research seminars are to deepen the students’ knowledge in Operations Management and to equip students with the skills needed for their research. Each research seminar is designed and coordinated by a faculty member. It consists of lectures and presentations/discussions focused on the topic of the seminar.

Duration of the Programme

On a full-time basis, the programme is designed to be completed in 24 months with coursework and a thesis.

Graduation Requirements

Students must accumulate 8 credit units and fulfill all the requirements listed below in order to graduate:
Foundation courses (4 credit units) – must receive a grade of B or above for all courses
Faculty-directed research seminars (2 credit units) – must pass all research seminars
Independent studies (2 credit units) – must pass all independent studies
Thesis proposal – must pass the oral exam on thesis proposal
Master’s thesis – must pass the thesis defense

Majors must organize and start up a mini-corporation, fund it, go into actual market offering of a chosen product or service. A laboratory called Incubator Facility (IF) is provided to allow new product development research for the students. Provides students in their 4th year to undertake a 48-hour (i.e. /week in 3 months) internship or on-the-job training in Marketing at a qualified enterprise in Metro Cebu. After completion of all academic requirements of the program, graduates can start and manage a business.

BSBA Double Major in Marketing Management and Entrepreneurship at University of San Carlos

College of Commerce at University of San Carlos

The program is designed for students who are keen on developing their technical skills and competencies in the areas of marketing and entrepreneurship. Majors must organize and start up a mini-corporation, fund it, go into actual market offering of a chosen product or service. A laboratory called Incubator Facility (IF) is provided to allow new product development research for the students. Provides students in their 4th year to undertake a 48-hour (i.e. /week in 3 months) internship or on-the-job training in Marketing at a qualified enterprise in Metro Cebu. Prepares and assist the future graduates in decision which occupational choice to pursue after graduation, namely: employment or self-employment. This is the only program where a grade point average of 2.5 or 80% is required to be maintained by the student as a retention policy for all major courses in marketing and entrepreneurship.

EMBA at University of San Carlos

This is a non-thesis graduate degree program that aims to take advantage of the experiences of the instructors and the students to provide a richer learning environment. Problem solving challenges from actual businesses will be a centerpiece of the program, as will an international field trip aimed at broadening the vision of the participants and exposing them first-hand to the global business environment. Insights from these activities will be placed in a larger framework to allow students to take what they have learned and apply it in the wide variety of circumstances they encounter in their careers.

The program is specially suited to part-time students either employed full-time or self- employed. The entire program consists of 5 modules (trimesters) totaling 45 units - each unit consists of 18 hours of lecture/discussion and research over a 15 week trimester. Every module is fitted into a trimester: Trimester I (June 14 to Sept. 20), Trimester II (October 4 to January 31) and Trimester III (February 14 to May 30). Every module has a specific focus and might contain more than two courses. Individual sessions last for three hours to provide the instructor and students sufficient time to cover the topic under discussion. Classes are held on Saturdays and one of the week days.

The fifth module: ‘The Global Manager’ contextualizes and summarizes the entire program through two important courses: Strategic Management and International Business. The course EMBA 2208 ‘International Field Trip’ includes a business exposure visit to two to three countries where students will be put in contact with various chambers of commerce, technology parks, government departments handling international trade, etc. This will be taken up before the comprehensive examination.
